The Christian life is one of growth. While still a babe, one consumes milk. After becoming a child the diet is mixed. An adult consumes meat. In various areas of life an individual may be living in each of these three stages. This growth concept is portrayed in several other alegorical forms throughout the scriptures.
Of particular interest are the house which is founded on the rock. Whose chief cornerstone is Christ. This house has walls, and rooms and a roof that are all built on top of the foundation. The strucure is no stronger than its foundation and the roof no more sound than the walls on which it is built.
Also of interest is the parable of the talent. There are three distinct phases. First the endowment of the Talents. Second the Investment of the Talents. Thirdly the delivery of the profits.
